Double run on the Upper Youghiogheny. We will take you on two runs down the famous Upper Youghiogheny River in Maryland. How can we do this? Natural flows, the water level during spring rains are abundant and our staff has been running the river during these flows for years. Now we want you to have the opportunity to see the Upper Yough at these natural levels. Check in time is 9:30 am. Don't worry about the cold. We'll give you wet suites, helmets, PFD's (life jackets), paddles and a guide that is dialed in on the Upper Yough. You bring some wool or fleece socks, good shoes and your paddling will keep you warm. This is an exciting trip. After the first run we'll take a quick snack break with some food, water and hot cider then we'll run the river again. After that, we'll eat dinner at a local restaurant near the take out and share stories about the day.
"The Double Barrel"

Check in time: 9:30 am

Weekends: $175 + $8.50 in fees/tax = $183.50 per person
The Lower Yough then the Upper Yough, this is a big day on the water. This trip is a fun day. We'll start out in the morning here at Ohiopyle by outfitting you with wet suits, paddling jackets, helmets and PFD's. Then we'll raft down the Lower Yough when the water is big. At this time of year the water is crisp and raging. Your guide steers you into the biggest wave hits the Lower has to offer. "All forward" yells the guide, as wave after wave crash over the bow of the raft and rips through the center of the raft drenching eager paddlers. At spring levels the rapids are intimidating and the landscape goes by quickly almost without notice. When you hit the calmer areas to catch your breath you notice the only thing green in the gorge are the pine trees. The deciduous trees won't show leaves for another month at least but you are out in nature feeling spring on the river. The seven and a half miles of river are bombed down in two and a half hours; you get to the take out board the shuttle vehicle and take a rest. We provide you with a snack, water and hot cider to fuel up while we drive to the put in for the Upper Yough. Moving with purpose our guides get the rafts and gear ready for a descent down the Upper Youghiogheny. Now you are able to discover the northern section of the Yough. It's the same river but steeper, tighter, more technical and a different geological history all together. After 6 and half miles of continuous Class V whitewater we'll hit the take out and it is time to eat a well-deserved dinner at the local diner. We provide the meal and you share your river stories collected this day.
